For 2 summers I worked at a camp on the Chesepeake Bay in Maryland. While working there one of the classes I taught was outdoor living skills. My best friend from the camp and I taught the class together sometimes and one day we decided to make french toast over a fire on the beach with coffee tins. How fun!
Simply mix up your french toast mixture- eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and milk.
Build a fire.
You don't want the fire flaming so let it burn down to mostly coals.
Put coffee tins on top of fire and let them heat up.
Put butter on coffee tins.
Dip bread slices in french toast mixture and place on coffee tin, cook on both sides and you are done! Add your syrup and eat up!
Our campers loved doing this and so did we!
